SIGMA Recovery is an extension of SIGMA Equipment, an industry leader in the resale of used packaging and processing equipment.

Sigma Packaging founded by Rob Palmer
2004
First Website is Launched
2005
Custom Database

In 2005, Sigma built our own custom database. This database allows us to keep track of every piece of equipment, whether it is customer-listed, in stock, or consigned.

2006
First Warehouse

Sigma moved into our first commercial warehouse space on Bayse Street in Evansville, IN.

2007
Moved to a Larger Warehouse

When our operations outgrew our Bayse Street warehouse we moved to a leased 60,000 square foot facility at Garvin Business Park on Morgan Ave.

2008
Sigma Launched Shop Services

In the early days, the shop services we offered included powering machines for customers, and making minor repairs.

2010
New Headquarters at 3001 Maxx Road

Sigma purchased our Maxx Road Warehouse for our headquarters and main warehouse in 2010. The warehouse is a total of 130,000 square feet, with eight dock loading doors. This facility remains the centerpiece of our operations.

2012
Pepperidge Farm Agreement

Sigma Packaging became the exclusive consignment vendor for Pepperidge Farm’s surplus processing and packaging equipment. Under the agreement, any equipment no longer needed for production in any of the 10 U.S. Pepperidge Farm plants is moved to Sigma Packaging’s warehouses in Evansville, IN to be resold to the public.

O’Hara Drive Warehouse

Sigma Packaging purchased our second facility in 2012. Our O’Hara Drive Warehouse is one of our long-term and large item storage warehouses. The 80,000 square foot warehouse has 8 dock loading doors, and a ground-level drive in entrance.

2013
Acquisitions Department

Sigma Packaging hired our first team member dedicated solely to leading the company’s purchasing efforts, directing the growth of the Asset Recovery and equipment consignment programs, and working with customers to reclaim value from their excess machinery.

SIGMA Surplus is Launched

SIGMA Surplus is our division that handles MRO small parts sales.

2014
Lynch Road Warehouse

Sigma Packaging purchased our largest warehouse in 2014. Our warehouse on Lynch Road is 240,000 square feet of warehouse space, with 16 loading docks and interior rail access.

Rebranding Begins

Sigma Packaging purchased the rights to the SIGMA Equipment website domain and began rebranding efforts to better represent the wide variety of equipment bought and sold here at SIGMA.

2015
Sigma Packaging Renamed to SIGMA Equipment

Sigma Packaging changed its name to SIGMA Equipment to better reflect the company’s growth. Having expanded its product and service offerings beyond packaging machinery to include processing and support equipment, SIGMA Equipment serves significantly more industry sectors than when Sigma Packaging was founded in 2003.

SIGMA Equipment Earns Spot on Inc. 5000 List

We were ranked 3800th on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5000 fastest growing companies in the nation. Companies are selected for the Inc. 5000 based on company growth over a three-year period.

2016
Shop Expansion

Our new, 10,000 square foot shop includes ten power stations and high-volume air lines, a photo area with professional lighting, and 23-foot ceilings with overhead doors. The old 5,000 square foot shop was converted into a space for our SIGMA Surplus division. Shop Services now include Power Up, Cycle Test, Repairs, Set-to-Size, Retooling, and Line Integration.

Mobile App

Our mobile app for Android devices is designed to help customers sell equipment quickly. Customers can create listings for their equipment, take photos from within the app, and store multiple listings until they are ready to upload them to SIGMA.

Surpassed 100,000 Active Customers

Our list of active customers grows more quickly each year. In 2016, we surpassed 100,000 active customers.
